Was around
Rome burning 
To the ground
No sound
Nada zilch zero

Arose from the sun
Like a smoke detector
Alerting
His imperial inspector
Roman Praetor
The fall has begun

But a waning moon’s coo
Tolled a mournful sound
Rome burning
To the ground
Nothing profound
